Bas completed her MSc in 2012 "Plant diversity and carbon sequestration in agricultural and forest ecosystems of Doi Mae Salong ". For her PhD   she developed new allometric equations  to predict forest-carbon accumulation in fallows and advanced secondary forest regeneration in hill evergreen forest in northern Thailand, graduating in 2019.
