Suchat Kaewsri (Oot)

Suchat or Oot was a tree nursery technician at FORRU-CMU's demonstration site in Krabi Province. He collected seeds and carried out research on forest phenology, seed germination and seedling growth. He was also involved in establishing, managing and monitoring several trial plots in the area, helping to develop a framework species system to restore lowland evergreen forest—Thailand's most endangered forest type and home to the last few individuals of the critically endangered bird species, Gurney's Pitta. He also helped to run education events at the nursery and contributed to Forest on Blackboard project. Sadly he passed away at the young age of 41, in January 2023.
