Punnat is a MSc student with the Environmental Science program in CMU's Biology Department. In 2019, he participated in a FORRU-CMU Summer Camp as an intern and for his BSc special project, he worked on the development of bioherbicides, to control weeds in forest restoration plots. For his MSc thesis project he is investigating how to use a consumer-drone with RBG photography, to monitor the growth and survival of saplings, planted to restore forest to an open cast limestone quarry. His field work costs are supported by the Siam Cement Group.
