Gardner, S., P. Sidisunthorn & V. Anusarnsunthorn, 2007. A Field Guide to Forest Trees of Northern Thailand. Kobfai Publishing Project, Bangkok, Thailand.
ABSTRACT: This field guide provides information on over 75% of the native tree flora in northern Thailand. It gives detailed information on 430 native tree species and notes for an additional 450 species. In addition, the guide is fully illustrated with 1,600 photos and 330 drawings. The guide includes species habitat and phenology information such as flowering and fruiting times. It also provides readers with local uses for trees.
Designed to be accessible to the general public, the guide uses non-technical language. It includes identification keys for all major families and genera, comparison tables for difficult groups, and it also gives common local names. Many of the species present in northern Thailand are regional in distribution. The guide includes information on the distribution of trees in neighboring countries, synonyms for names, and cross-references to regional flora.
