This short cartoon book tells the story of two siblings who learn from their grandfather the importance of preserving and restoring their local tropical forest. The children learn about the restoration process from start to finish: germinating seeds, caring for seedlings in a nursery, picking the right plot, and how to care of newly-planted trees. They learn that everyone can do their part to help heal beautiful ecosystems and biodiversity.
This book is perfect for introducing young and old alike to art and science of forest restoration for biodiversity recovery and environmental conservation.
Kate Downes, a freelance illustrator from London (peppermint.illustration@gmail.com), created the artwork, during her internship with FORRU-CMU, whilst working with Art Relief International, one of FORRU-CMU's previous partner organizations.
