Kate did some early research on seed germination of native forest species as FORRU-CMU was first being conceived, returning to CMU to carry out fieldwork for her PhD on forest regeneration with the University of Wales. She now works for the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew , UK as Asia coordinator for the Millennium Seed Bank Partnership , and is the UK Project Co-ordinator for the Garfield Weston Global Tree Seed Bank – Thailand project, in which FORRU is a key partner.
