Gawmai graduated from Chiang Mai University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology Major and Biology Education Minor. For her BSc special project in 2021, she received a grant from FORRU, to study tree seedling growth and diversity at 2 reforestation plots: Mon Jam and Mon Long, and to compare results with the reference forest at Mon Jam. In 2023, she joined the FORRU staff as a part-time Education Officer, making use of her experience in science teaching.
