Som graduated with a B.Sc. in Ecology from CMU's Biology Department in 2019. She participated in a student camp  on forest restoration hosted by CMU Nature Centre  and joined FORRU as a volunteer during her BSc special project. Her study focused on the " Diversity of Ground Flora in the Restoration Area of The Siam Cement (Lampang) Co., Ltd Limestone Quarry " to monitor the progress of the restoration process and compare species diversity. She then worked with CMU Nature Centre on a seed bank project as a research assistant and in instructional media design.
